News from the French charts, November 23rd, 2017

All you need to know about the latest French charts for the week ending November 23rd, 2017. Downloads, airplay, streaming and physical sales.

French rappers Kalash and Damso continue commanding the combined singles chart for the 7th week in a row.
This is only the 5th song to reach the top spot this year and, with only one month to go to the year end, it looks likely that 2017 will go down in history as a year with the slowest turnover on the chart summit ever.

The number one songs of 2017 list as follows, so far:

« I Feel It Coming » The Weeknd
« Shape Of You » Ed Sheeran
« Despacito » Luis Fonsi
« Réseaux » Niska
« Mwaka Moon » Kalash

The release of Lacrim’s latest album sees all of its tracks flooding the singles chart.
All in all, 25 entries out of the top 50 positions are shared among the same four French rap acts !
The long awaited combined singles chart is now in a desperate and urging need to be rethought, a rule limiting the number of eligible songs by the same artist would be welcome, something alike what was implemented four months ago in the UK.

On that monochromatic chart, only Camila Cabello’s Havana manages to move upward in the top 10 and hits a new peak at 3.

On the downloads chart, Ed Sheeran’s Perfect bounces back and claims the number one spot for a second non consecutive week. A remix with Beyoncé is due out shortly and that will undoubtedly help the song gain yet more popularity.

The highest new entry on the downloads chart is the duet between Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato. ‘Echame la culpa’ debuts at 6.

On the airplay chart, Havana races to number one and confirms the success of the song throughout all the metrics.

Kygo’s Stargazing featuring Justin Jesso is the week’s biggest climber. It advances 22 places to land at 38.

The combined albums chart sees the coronation of French rapper Lacrim’s album.

The top 10’s new entries are the following:
A covers album of Johnny Hallyday’s hits is at 2 – week’s best-seller
French pop singer Etienne Daho is at 6
Shaka Ponk’s new offering is at 8.

The French charts are compiled by GfK for Snep. They are based on downloads, streams and, for the albums chart, physical sales.
The airplay chart is compiled by Yacast.
