News from the French charts, October 12th 2017

All you need to know about the latest French charts for the week ending October 12th, 2017. Downloads, airplay, streaming and physical sales.

French rapper Niska’ s reign over the combined singles chart has ended after 11 weeks. French hip hop group Kalash has taken over. Their new song, entitled Mwaka Moon, goes straight in at number 1 on the downloads chart, the streaming tally and the combined singles chart.
The song, featuring rapper Damso, is only the 5th song to reach the top spot this year.

Other new entries on the downloads chart include include former Noir Désir frontman, Bertrand Cantat, with his latest offering, L’Angleterre, and French rapper Eddy de Pretto’s debut single entitled Kid.

On the airplay chart, Pink remains at number one for the second week running with What About Us.

On the combined albums chart, French rapper Niska is at number one for the third week in a row with Commando on Capitol Records. Fuelled by solid streaming figures, the album holds the top position in spite of not being the leader in terms of pure sales, the week’s best-seller being Florent Pagny’s Le Présent d’abord, on Capitol Records.

The week’s highest new entry is at 11 for French songstress Carla Bruni. Her album, entitled French Touch, on Barclay Records, covers various international hits ranging from The Rolling Stones’ Miss You to Depeche Mode’s Enjoy The Silence.

The highest new entry by a foreign act is Marilyn Manson’ s Heaven Upside Down, on Caroline Records, new at 15.

The French charts are compiled by GfK for Snep. They are based on downloads, streams and, for the albums chart, physical sales.
The airplay chart is compiled by Yacast.
