News from the French charts

A quick look at the French charts, week ending Sep. 21st, 2017.

French rapper Niska continues commanding the combined singles chart, for the 9th week in a row. His song ‘Réseaux’, which has just gone diamond in France, is only the 4th number one song this year, yielding the slowest turnover ever seen atop the French charts across the first 38 weeks of any year.

‘Feels’ (Calvin Harris feat. Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Big Sean) continues ruling the airplay chart for the 9th week in a row.

Over to the downloads chart, where Alice Merton rises to the top position with ‘No Roots’.

French rapper Ninho claims 6 of the top 10 entries of the combined singles chart, thanks to streaming. This has even propelled his album, entitled ‘Comme prévu’, to the top of the albums chart, in spite of not being the week’s best-seller.

The highest new entry by a foreign act on the albums chart is Angus and Julia Stone’s ‘Snow’ (on Pias) at 13.

The French charts are compiled by GfK for Snep. They are based on downloads, streams and, for the albums chart, physical sales.
The airplay chart is compiled by Yacast.
